Research Positions
Mission Statement
The goal of the Department of Immunology is to provide a focus for the advancement of knowledge in immunology through research and education. The immune system plays crucial roles in fighting infectious diseases and cancer, in allergy, autoimmunity and immunopathology. Research within the Department of Immunology focuses on the cellular, molecular and organismal levels to understand development, function, and regulation of the immune system from the most fundamental mechanisms to therapeutic applications. Education centers around the Immunology Graduate Program, the M.D., D.M.D. and combined degree (M.D./Ph.D and D.M.D./Ph.D.) programs, and the training of postdoctoral and clinical fellows.
